A Busy Weekend!

We went to a friend's party.  Jake was turning 8 years old!  Joey's size makes him fit in, however, I talked to him before the party.  They were using sling shots, and I thought he may be frustrated with not being able to do what the other boys could do (age difference).  He accepted it well and threw the ball at the targets since his sling shot skills need practice.

This was an "Angry Birds" party.  The boys drew pigs in the street.

Then, they used this contraption to launch the water balloons at the pigs!

The birthday boy, Jake, and his brother, Tyler.

Oh, what fun it was!

The excitement!

Now, to be the target!

Loving it!

The anticipation!

A couple of "Angry Birds" (AKA grandparents) showed up!

(I was there.)  Mandy, the birthday boy's mom, and I have been friends for many years now - well over 13 years.  It has been fun getting the boys together on occasion.

Red Lobster!  This was always my favorite part of Red Lobster as a child.  I'm glad they haven't gotten rid of the display.

Joey requested to have his picture taken with me.

We went to the zoo for a music show, but look at this!

It's like they were posing for the camera - amazing, but intimidating.

Joey's photo - he's doing well with his skills -he must take after Papa!

Cute yiddle (little) Oreo!

Our friends invited us to the Lucas Miller show at the zoo.  Joey had seen him last year and still sings his songs.  It was great.  It had been raining so they set up the performance under a covered deck.  Also, not many people showed up.  It was a personal show for the boys who were not intimidated one bit.  They approached the "star" before and after the show to share their interests.

Vonn and Joey enjoying the show.

Joey singing along!

The staff put out animals for the children to sit on.

Vonn and Joey!

By the elephant display at the zoo.

Joey's first girlfriend, Maria, "the girl next door."  It was her sweet sixteen birthday.  He bought her roses and a balloon.  She was happy and so was he.
