Grandparent's Day at School!

Nana and Papa visited Joey for Grandparent's Day at School.  I believe it was special for both of them.  Joey gave Papa and Nana a tour of the school and was so proud to show off.  He wanted them to stay the entire time (2 hours), and they even went to recess with him - although he only wanted them to sit at the side and watch.

Grandparent's Day 2012!

My dear parents have been wonderful grandparents!  We celebrated Grandparent's Day by taking them to a popular restaurant, The Magnolia Pancake Haus.  Although we waited over an hour to be seated, it was a beautiful day and we visited and enjoyed eachother.

Meet The Teacher!

Joey has been a little anxious about Kindergarten, but posed very lovingly with his new teacher, Mrs. Jordan! 

We Got the Wii!!! (Again)

This is our replacement Wii from the "break in" this summer.  Joey was so excited - we waited awhile to replace it.  And, this version came with the Super Mario Brothers Game!

The End of the Summer!

I realize my post is late.  We are now 5 weeks into the school year, but, anyway. . .

So this is the Pig Stand.  I believe it was the first
drive up to restaurant in Texas (the one in Dallas).
Anyway, they had lots of memoribilia and even some
live entertainment of 2 people playing guitars singing
50s music (including Spanish classics - we are in San
Antonio).  Joey looked at Elvis on the wall and said,
"Look, mom, it's Justin Beiber!"  Uh-oh!  We need to
educate our Joey on the more important things - like Elvis!



Somehow, Joey can always catch the geckos in the house!

Patrick's Birthday!

Joey has been seeing Patrick regularly since he was in infant.  My friend, Marcy, recommended our dear Erika as Joey's daycare.  It has been a family ever since.

Kathy's Kindergarten Room!

Each year, I help Kathy with her "Meet the Teacher" night at school.  Luckily, she and Joey's nights didn't end up on the same night.  This is her beautiful classroom.  It really shows her organizational skills and set up which really assists in the children learning.  Impressive!  (Although she teaches in a disadvantaged area, she always creates an excellent learning environment.)

Joey's Strategies!

Joey called for me the other day, and this is what he said. . .

"Close the door, Mom.  This is private information.  You need to be persistant.  And, hear this, the other thing is you have to be this - the hardest part, you have to imagine yourself not just beating that level, but the whole game.  That's the secret to the game!"

Joey has really enjoyed the Wii - especially since we re-bought it (after it being stolen).  He actually refers to himself as a "gamer."  And, by the way, I have earned that title, too, at least in Joey's eyes.
