Joey has always been a curious child. I have always been "gung-ho" on answering all his questions - to assist him in figuring out this big world. I am not the mom that says, "Just because" or "I don't know" and I have to say the effort is exhausting. But, I believe the benefits far exceed the effort. Anyway, as stated in the title, the endless questions have reappeared. Now, when he was one year old, the "what's that?" was for interesting items - maybe a toy, a special colored item, a moving item, etc. Now the "what's that" is pretty much everything he doesn't know the purpose of. The other day he found the tool box with all of the odds and ends. Boy, that was a good 10 minute challenge for me!
The wonderful thing is - he wants to know - he is so driven to figure out this world - and loves it. One of my favorite qualities of him is when I teach him something new - he laughs - out of joy! Even when I taught him to say "Excuse me" for burping - he was so intrigued that he was supposed to say something just for manners sake. Joey laughs all the time - he brings many smiles to many people.
The why questions are more difficult, because he's getting quite high level these days. He has some good questions - I have to look many of the answers up. Gotta love the curious child, but it is much effort to keep him entertained.
I've had to resort to finding videos on youtube that explain things Vonn asks (e.g., where does rain come from)! We should start a resource for moms of 4-year-olds - a one stop shop for the answers to their crazy questions!
